25th Day of Training...Feeling a little off.
I woke up this morning and I felt like there was some itch in my throat. I may be coming down with a cold. I took some tylenol and some decongestant stuff. That was good. During practice, I was sweating more than usual, but I kept pushing it. I learned more of Xing Yi Gun. After practice was over, I was talking to Josh. I figured it out. Happy Sifu is only really frustrated with me when I work on staff forms with him. I don't know why. He was also like this when he was teaching me Cheng Meng Cheng Taiji this morning. He acts like a dick when I make a mistake, even after seeing something for the first time. "Why are you doing that? Who told you to jump? No, like this, do it right." Sometimes all I got were audible frustrated sighs. He really gets on my nerves when he acts like this. The only downside to his teachings i think. However, whenever I make mistakes in Zui Quan, it doesn't bother him. He seems to enjoy working on that with me.
It may be the chinese way of teaching, or not. Luckily he aint beating me like the chinese do to chinese students. I guess i shouldn't complain, it could be worse, but I really get annoyed with these little pissy comments.
Anywho, felt a little more off at lunch when I was on the computer, my head started hurting and so did my eyes, like when you get a slight fever. So, I took some medicine to see if that cured me up. it sorta did.
I went to afternoon practice and worked my ass off on Xing Yi Gun. I learned the rest of it and Sifu was again acting like a jerk during the teaching. I dont think it helps his attitude when i talk back to him, but I am not accustomed to be treated like this when learning gong fu. The Shaolin Monk in Las Vegas, Gabriel, and the Shorinji Kempo senseis, none of them have acted like this. I am really frustrated with Sifu taking his frustrations with his boss out on me.
This morning as I was coming to 8AM class, I grabbed some water downstairs and there was their boss scolding and yelling at Happy Sifu, Bean Sifu, and one of the office girls. I don't know what about. So at the beginnning of the morning class, I asked Sifu if everything was alrigth and he said that he was just angry with his boss and has finally made the decision to leave Tagou. I asked him when and he said, "After". After, huh. After today? After next week? "After."
Ok.
This school seems to be shooting itself in the foot alot. Its a great location, but they overcharge on everything and the great teachers they have are being treated like dogs and don't want to stay, so moral really sucks. Oh well. I want to find this boss and tell him that he is an idiot.
I worked so hard in afternoon practice that I almost passed out. I am gonna have a huge bruise on my left bicep from this staff form. there is a lot of power in it. Its a fun form too but also very tiring. I don't know how many tiems i did it, but I tired myself out. Also, I did some Zui Quan in the morning. I finally got the kip, when you are on the ground and you jump up to your feet. I can't do it all the time, i did it about 5 times. A couple times I had to put my hands out to keep my balance from falling over. It was a good sign though. I need to work on it so I can throw it into the form.
Last night i felt eh and went to bed really early. That realy didnt help because I all night I didnt sleep well. I had gong fu forms going thru my head constantly, like when you study for an exam all day for a couple days and then you cant fall asleep because the formulas are running thru your head.
Also, when I laid on either side of me, my arms hurt from the bruises.
Sifu said that everyone who does this form gets bruises in these spots.
Goodnite.
