Horrible business ethics.
It just continuously amazes me at how much business some of these chinese will give up just because I am white. I mean, money is money, right? No matter where it comes from. Maybe it was because I was raised properly and I just don't really understand why people can be that racist. For example, the often practice of me trying to get a motorcycle taxi. There is this route I usually travel that costs 3RMB. I consistently get taxi drivers that try to get me for 4 or 5RMB and I am like, "Dude, its 3." In my mind I am like, "I ain't retarded, Jerkface." After I say 3RMB they either argue about it and speed off, speed off when I don't take ride, or they just say "No" and I walk away. If I was a taxi driver here in China, I would do my best to get all the fares I could. A little goes a long way in this country. Well, at least in non-tourist areas.
I spent most of my day doing geeky computer stuff and editing my Shanghai footage. It was another warm/hot day. It was beautiful. A positive to this weather is the fact that my clothes dry in like 2 hours after I hang them up. Chatted with Megan for a bit online. She can't write more english than she can speak, it seems like. She just needs practice. I am quite surprised with the speed at which she is learning.
I was supposed to meet up with Wing at 5pm to go pick up my sword, but she called around 430pm and she said she called the shop. They still aren't finished. They may be done tomorrow. So far they only have only gotten one side of it done. I guess its good that they are taking a long time, hopefully it shows that they are being really careful.
So I headed over to 1+1 to do some shopping.
Came back and chilled a bit before I had gong fu tonite. Practice was ok. Worked hard. Didn't learn anything new, just did the forms and fooled around a bit. Guo Sifu corrected some of my staff work. Nothing spectacular today. My Hong Quan forms are getting much faster and cleaner. I can see that. I broke my bamboo staff that I bought for 1RMB back at Halloween time. Snap the top 1/4 of it off practicing. I'm that hardcore. :D
Well, rode my bike home and now I am drinking some Guiness "Foreign Extra Stout" that i bought at Jusco yesterday. Its ok. I miss real Guiness. And going to the "Nine Fine Irishmen" Bar in New York, New York casino in Las Vegas. That place rules. Most irish you can get in the states, outside Boston. Not that I have ever been to Boston, but I am guessing. Its such a fun place. I am just thinkin now about Irish Car Bombs. Chugging a pint of Guinness after dropping a shot of Bailey's Irish Creme in there. Its sooooo awesome and it tastes like ice cream. When I get back from japan, I am totally gonna go visit Fred in Las Vegas!
Well, time for bed. Good nite.
