Humidity: The degree of moisture in the atmosphere.
You`d think that after 4000 years, the chinese would have been able to understand this concept. I had to show the English teachers the definition in their dictionary. They were complaining about how hot it was, and I was like, "what? this is warm. THe only reason it feels hot is because of the humidity." All I got was blank stares. Hence the education lesson. But they were still like...its hot. I am like, you live in Guangdong...if you are complaining now about the weather I will hate to hear all the complaining when July and August role around. This is still spring. Here`s a quarter, buy a clue.
Anywho, there was a lot of it today. I think the most recently. I dont even think the regular temperature was over mid-80s at all.
Today was a great day, considering how tired I was. All my classes went really well. I pulled that "speak chinese or you`re out" stuff in my 4th grade classes today. It ruled. Coco loved it. I booted a couple out right away and it got the kids talking in English. I don`t leave them in the hall long. I only do so for 1 minute. Just long enuff to make an example out of them. I do it in a playful manner, but I have noticed Coco and Ivy taking an Totalitarian approach to it by scolding them a bit. Not bad, but a little. I sent a boy out 3 times in the span of 10 minutes. Very funny, he would also let something slip out when I was right there or looking at him.
About 3 boys were playing with themselves in my Kindergarten class of 12 kids. And they were trying to rip the shorts off of the girl sitting next to them. Prepubescent rapers....is it a crime, will they get put on a sex offenders list? I had no assistant and the older kids class director sitting in today. A bunch of school people have been watching this class the past 2 weeks, i dont get it.
I went to go to Lion practice tonite. I got there and no one was there and all the pedestal equipment was gone. Crap. So, I called up Yumi and we hung out for awhile. She has to go to Shiqi tomorrow for some injection for her school to protect her from all the germ factories she is teaching. She is afraid, because the chinese are known not to be very clean with their medical equipment...at times. Well, I have not seen this personally, but at one time they were...wait? what was that? Oh, yeah, that is right, during a Communist Government Money for Blood Program intended to help the multitudes of poor in Henan Province, the government/medical staff wanted to save money and they re-used HIV laden needles and infected thousands of its own people, and then tried to cover it up.
Mayu is afraid and is gonna get it done some other way. But Yumi is gonna brave it. Really, in this day and age in modern Chinese cities there`s really no worry. Unless you are really slumming it.
I still think its bizarre that their hair salons are more sanitary than the hospitals that I have seen. I see they got their priorities straight.
Yumi has the chinese MTV on right now, and they are playing a video of Japanese Super Boy Group "WINDS". A 3 member crap J-pop group. So retched. JUst as bad as Backstreet boys n stuff. And they are all dressed up like early 1990s rappers and break dancing, and throwing gangsigns. So sad. really.
Sometimes I wish the Samurai class were back to exact their authority on this mailbox heads.
