Practice
Today I woke up late cause I was up late doing stuff. Just went to the gym, worked on computer related stuff. went to chinese lesson...which sucked, and then went to practice...which sucked.
I went to the gym today. Its funny when you see a guy on the treadmill smoking a cigarette. I took my bike into the gym this time. A couple people tried to tell me to leave it at the bottom of the stairs and I totally ignored them. "Then you pay for it when it gets stolen." Its great sometimes when you don't understand the language and you deal with Chinese people. You can do things that no one else does, things that are not allowed, and get away with it because they are too afraid of being embarassed and trying to speak english. Its great sometimes. Most of the time, though, it sucks.
Chinese lessons were lame today. Lets see, Catherine was 30 minutes late. When we got there she was like, "I will teach you about chinese family relations. What to call each other." Ben was all like, "I don't even know how to say 'Hello' or 'How are you?' or 'Waiter, I want chicken.' How is this gonna help me? I don't even know the basics of the language." And I was all like, "Ditto!" I asked her if we could have class at 7pm instead and she said she could and told me she would just eat dinner at 9pm and I was like, "NO! I ain't gonna force you to change when you eat dinner. I will just come for 45minutes, which means I got 15 minutes left." After that I told her that she needs to prepare lessons for us, and give us homework because all the stuff that Lynn and Doris taught us was in no context and no way for us to remember anything.Thanks for wasting 45 minutes of time. I am off to practice.
What a waste, I was the only practicing. There were other Yongning people there that were sitting around screwing around. The news story I was on said, "Everynight, there are hundreds of students practicing along with the son and daughter while the Sifu and his wife are teaching others." Nothing is further from the truth. What a load of bullshit. I don't know how many times Sifu hasn't even been there and I have never seen hundreds of people there. The most I have seen is maybe 100. And they aren't even all Yongning folks, they are with the others too. Headed home. goodnite.
