So, sometime last week or a 1.5 weeks ago, I came back from a crappy wednesday afternoon 6th grade class. I mentioned my frustration with the kids and Coco mentioned, do you want to try teaching a 2nd grade class. We had discussed this option at the end of last semester. But nothing ever came to fruition. We decided that today was the day I would trade my 6th grade class on wednesday afternoon for a 2nd grade class on thursday morning. Yesterday, I received a bit of a possible crisis when I was asking May about the lessons for 2nd grade. She said "You are teaching 6th grade." No...I am teaching 2nd grade, that was the whole point of switching. So, she let me look at the book.
I got up this morning and headed to class, I picked up some fruit for the lesson and go to the school. Coco immediately told me that I am not teaching 2nd grade but 6th grade. I was all like, "But the whole point of the switch was for me to teach 2nd grade today. Why would I move a 6th grade class to the next day. They will still suck." So Coco and I discussed it for a bit. Ugh. She was the one that mentioned doing the switch, I don't know what went wrong. But May when to ask someone about me teaching for the 6th and the 2nd grade, she came back and said they both classes were taking a test during that period so I don't have to attend either. Ugh. Way to keep on top of things people. So, I sat down at the computer to type this up. Crazy stuff.
Well, the rest of the day was, eh. My 3rd graders today were terrible. My 5th graders were great. Once they got over being chinese, things went well. They really got into it and participated. See, I am doing something right. It ain't me.
I got alot of DVD work completed today. I am going thru editing a bunch of footage. I have so much that I want to cram into 2 hours. I have alot of Lion Dance stuff leading this edition to be heavy on that. I will also send out the Chinese New Year performances I did on a seperate disc. I made one for Guo Sifu. I will just send that along.
I am also preparing for Rumi's surprise party that I am hosting at the Big House tomorrow nite. Yumi went to get the cake today and some other little things. I called people, bought some beer, and got my dry cleaning. Also other snacks will be purchased tomorrow. Killer. Hopefully we can actually throw a surprise party for real this time. Yuppers.
Pretty much it for today. I am outtie suckas.
