Kung Fu Hustle
I was supposed to go to hand out flyers today at 11AM with Lynn. However, I woke up at 1030AM, checked my email and there was a message from Lynn saying, “Since this is the last day of school, the kids will be let out earlier. We must go at 10AM. See you then.” I sent a response back.
I had an OK kindergarten class today. It was the “10 Kid Spaz Class”. It was quarter to 5 before I was able to start the class because not all the children were there. Plus, Owen was missing. I called him up. “So, Owen…where are you?” –Oh, I am here at the office. I am busy. I can’t come to class. “Oh, that's nice. Thanks for telling me.” Owen has started picking up bad habits. Not showing up on time for class and not giving us a day’s advance notice on the info. If the foreign teachers do that, we would be penalized severly. Peter has been having these issues with Jolene as well, but much more often. Sometimes she has just not shown up for class without telling Peter. That doesn’t help trying to get the kids to follow directions.
I went home. I was getting ready to go to lion dance practice when Peter pulled out the new bootlegged copy of Stephen Chow’s latest masterpiece “Kung Fu Hustle”. I had to watch it. Besides, everyone was at the house. So we all watched it together. It was great. Very funny. I am gonna get a bunch of copies tomorrow and ship them home in my next care package. The only problem is that these are bootlegged copies and it will take many months for the real DVD to come out, and when that happens, most of the DVDs will be bootlegged anyway. China is full of criminals.
