Sunday Teaching n stuff
Taught today in Guzhen. It was good. Got the kids to play this game to help practice body parts. Introduced some new ones. Did pretty much the same lesson with Daisy and the two other students. I did get into an arguement with Toby over the dead chinese guy in the street. I mentioned something how i find it coldhearted how everyone ignored that fact. So Toby said, give him some money. That's compassionate. Sure, its compassionate, but it doesn't help at all because all it does is encourage him to beg and not get a job or anything. Its China...they have jobs. So Toby went off and called me a hypocrit. So we argued about this for awhile until class started. That guys has serious issues.
On the way home he told me that he realized yesterday why Tony is banned from the party. He was at the Xiaolan Bond office when Tony came in and was harrassing Salena. Apparently Toby got the hint of why no one likes Tony. And there is no way to fix him.
He then went on to complain about Christmas and how its a crock. John told me that he started bad mouthing Christians the other nite saying out of all the world religions, they are always the first to go against what they claim to believe. Shut your hole. Worshippers of all faiths have all done that. Christians weren't the first and nor will they be the last or the only ones doing it. Shut it, Toby. Shut it. John, Suzanna, and I think the reason he may be so arguementative is because of the culture shock. I know I was very irritable the first month or so I was here. Its possilbe thats the cause. But still, why does he get on the wrong side of the arguement. I accidently brought up "racism in America today" the other day and how I think its more media/minority manufactured than actual racsim. He started to get all upity, so I offered that we refrain from fighting about it till another time instead of ruining the night. Which I am sure he would have. ;-)
I bought a pretty kicking suit today. I got it for $36US. I was walking thru this market thats been going on for the past 12 days. They got lots of junk and useful things at decent prices. I found this suit. The reason I got it was because I have been looking for this type of suit for awhile, but can never find it. I saw it and the guy got me talking. He wanted twice that amount so I offered 1/3 of the price. He got at the final one and wouldn't come down. So, what the hell. Its pretty nice actually. I can see me getting use out of it.
Peter and I worked on his chinese scooter/sled. The chain keeps popping off the tire. We put it up on some blocks...really, just a stool...to check out the underside. The gear that the chain is on is bent and thats why it keeps popping off. Peter tried to bend it back, but it was the teeth that were bent so he ended up bending the plate more in the opposite direction. After about 15 minutes of us working on it, we were able to bend it in enough a way that wouldn't allow for it to pop off. That we know of yet. And we tightened the brake. The brake has been little or no help lately. It will work now though. for a bit.
