I have to learn Hong Quan again.
Yuppers. Just got back from the Lion Dance practice/lessons that I discovered this weekend. I went with Salena (who's English is just a bit better than my Cantonese) to watch and discuss issues with the teacher. And of course she couldn't express herself to me and she couldn't understand me. We had to call Lynn constantly. I still dont really understand why she was sent to go with me. Don't get me wrong, Salena is great and efficient, its just hard to understand each other some times. According to this guy, I need to learn the whole Hong Quan Form before learning Lion Dancing....um excuse me... No I don't. I learned it once before - I just forgot it and I have done much more physcially demanding/intense forms since then as well. I know my stances after four years of constant martial arts practice. Yes, I do need a refresher on Hong Quan (red fist) but I can do that as I learn lion dancing. I am only gonna be in this scum-hole of a town for 4 more months, I want to learn as much as possible.
Its gonna be tough doing this though since no one there speaks English...well, most of the other students are middle and highschool so they know some english, but really don't. I had a pretty good conversation with the teacher's daughter. She could hold a basic conversation pretty well. I confused her a couple times.
Other than that, all I did today was go to the gym and clean up my room. I washed the floor with bleach water to remove dirt and germs from the destruction of bugs the night before. I aslo did some DVD work. Its coming along slowly, unfortunately. I need to get this done to start on another thing I want to do.
Good nite all.
