Badmitten Badasssssss.

Ok, so today is Sunday and I have to teach in Guzhen. So I went. Class was good. Nothing super duper happened. Lynn reminded me that I had to teach kindergarten class at 3pm. Ok. Shouldn't be a problem. After guzhen teaching was over, I headed home and did some more DVD work. 3pm was rolling around so I head out for class. It was just two kids this time. Daisy, and a boy i have never seen before. Leo, the boy, was super quiet and withdrawn for about 30 minutes, but the last 10 minutes, he opened up and he was getting into it. I was teaching them throw and catch and I had them chuckin erasers around the room. I got them to tell each other to run here, there, everywhere.
After this class got over, I waited around the Bond office because the Bond gang decided to have a big Badmitten tournament. Yes thats right, a badmitten tournament. Here were the teams.. Team America, me and John. The England Everlasts: Sean & Suzannah. The Samurai: Rumi & Yumi. China 1: Jolleen and Lynn. China 2: Mountain & Salina. Toby and Robert made up their own, Ash would swap teams from time to time. Anywho, everyone was playing.
I am sorry to say that Team America failed to achieve victory in all three of its campaigns. We found ourselves in a quagmire(sp?). But then again, only countries full of morons take badmitten seriously...England, China, and Japan. These people were hardcore. ITS FRIGGIN BADMITTEN! They need to choose their strengths wisely. Maybe thats why they were losing in WWII. Anywho. While I was on the sidelines after our first tour was complete, i was just chillin and I noticed lots of little feet moving to a beat behind the curtain of the stage they were on in the auditorium that we were in. Hmmm...little kids dancing...that rules. Then, the curtain was pulled back and they were the ages of 3rd-5th graders. "Hey! I know a couple of you! You are in my classes." I saw a couple kids still practicing while all the others were running around punching one another. They were learning Chinese Latin Dance. Chinese because all the sexuality and sensuality of the latin style dances had been stripped away...but then again, these were just kids, so it didnt matter. I was surprised at their technical skills though.
I tried to speak to the instructor, but he had no clue what I was saying. I finally got him to understand that I have been dancing 7 years and I dance swing/lindy hop. I started to show the kids some steps and they were just laffing at me until I tried to get a kid to show them with. They were all running away from me until I snagged one unlucky child. She was willing so I showed her the dance steps and we danced to a song. It was great! I have been able to dance like that since I got to China. All the kids mouths dropped and I started picking the kid up and using her for areils since she weight about 30 pounds. That song was over and I snagged another kid and danced to that song again with another. The kids all enjoyed watching and so did the teacher. Whoops time for class again and I had to run off to a badmitten battle with China 1.
After we finished playing, it was dark and we went out to the dumpling house for dinner. The service there stinks. Took forever, but the sweet and sour pork and dumplings were so so so so so sooooooo good. After that we pretty much vegged out for the nite. We went back to John's house and watched Shaolin Soccer. It was surprising that Jolleen and Rumi had never seen it. Then went home and slept.
