Dealing with the finger.
Well, one of my kids gave me the finger today. The kid was in 4th grade. Did he know what it means? At the time he did it, I thought so. But then I thought that it could be his older brother or friend that told him to do it. Its possible he didn't know what it means. I saw this so I sent him up to the front of the room. This was during Lucy's class and she didnt understand why I sent him to the front. But she yelled at him none-the-less.
I ain't taking no single barrels from nobody in my class.
So, after lunch I had a chance to chat with Lucy and Anna about why I sent him to the front of the room. I explained to them that in America, the middle finger is a bad hang gesture. They didnt understand. So, they were both standing there for a few minutes giving me their middle finger while I was trying to explain it. All they were doing was looking at it...with a confused look. "This is bad.." and I am like "PUT IT AWAY!" I just tried to tell them that it was very bad. I dont think I had the heart to tell them the chinese equivalent. Oh well. Next time I guess.
